Norris Dam Camping Trip!

So the time in fall where the weather is absolutely perfect comes and goes by just a blink! Ryan and I decided to take advantage of the AWESOME weather and get away from the stresses of school for a few days! We looked on the map and decided that CAMPING sounded great, and to add to that, there was a state park, Norris Dam, not too terribly far from Knoxville..actually it is really close!

We got there and this was the view that we saw! After pitching our tent we decided to go down to the river and see what the local fishermen were catching that day! Suprisingly, the water was really low and the men were standing on part of the dam and catching quite a few! The view was so amazing I had to stop and take a few pictures!
When we went back to the same spot the next morning, we didn't have that much luck..this is Ryan contemplating where all the fish went and why in the world they wouldn't come back! "He wanted to eat trout for dinner daggummit!"

The weather was absolutely perfect the whole weekend with no chance of rain! The only firewood that we had was collected from the woods and poor thing, Ryan had to go down to the woods probably fifteen times to get more because goodness know, I wanted Smores! He is such a sweetheart! Next time we are going to bring an air mattress or some kind of cushy thing to put underneath because neither one of us got any sleep due to the wood chips underneath! Uggh! I have bruises still!

Our campsite was right next to the Hootin' Trail so we went on a short hike through the woods. I don't know what it is, but for some reason boys feel like they have to pick up big rocks and throw them wether it be into the lake, or down a hill..but it is inevitable! Never the less, it gave him joy!
I think that as soon as we left, we were ready to go back!

Tell Ryan he must have a fishing pole in the water to catch fish!
